How we source, validate, and rank airport services

1. Data sources

  • Airport operators & concessionaires — direct contracts and feeds where available.
  • Authorised third-party providers — published price sheets, public booking pages, and partner APIs.
  • Public datasets — IATA / ICAO codes, official airport websites, government immigration policy pages.
  • On-the-ground verification — periodic audits by the editorial team and contributing experts.

2. Validation

Every airport record passes through schema validation (airportSchemas.ts) before publication. Pricing claims are checked against the originating provider page within 24 hours of change. Records that fail validation are quarantined, never silently auto-corrected.

3. Ranking

Default ranking optimises for traveller value: time saved, price, provider reliability, and availability for the user's flight. Ranking does not consider commission rate. Sponsored placements, where present, are clearly labelled and isolated from the organic list.

4. Update cadence

  • Airport metadata: weekly
  • Pricing & availability: daily for top 50 airports, weekly elsewhere
  • Editorial guides: reviewed quarterly, updated on material change

5. Editorial standards

We disclose all commercial relationships, never accept payment for ranking, and correct errors as soon as we are made aware. Authors have published bylines with named expertise and external profiles (see authors).

6. Public API & MCP

FastTrack exposes a read-only public API at /api/public/v1/ (OpenAPI spec at openapi.json) and an MCP server at /api/mcp (discovery) so research, journalism, and AI clients can verify our claims directly.

7. Corrections

Spot an error? Email editorial@fasttrack.flights with the URL and the correction. We aim to respond within two working days.
